does it really make a big change to ur baby’s sleeping pattern. especially those who have sleepless night. after using a grobag, did ur baby sleep thru the nite without waking up anymore. i m doing a survey and would like to have more opinion first before getting a grobag myself as it is very expensive in my country. thanks!!!
It is just starting to heat up where I live. My daughter is 6 months and has been sleeping in a sleevless sleeping bag since January. Before that, I only had her in her pyjamas. We had some cold weather in January , that is why I got the sleeping bag. It is made out of a thin material probably the kind people in Europe would use in spring or summer. I didn’t notice any difference in her sleeping pattern with the sleeping bag, but now I can be sure that she is not cold at night.
We don’t have the AC running yet , so she only has a sleevless onsie underneath her sleeping bag. When we have the AC running again – I assume in another 3 or 4 weeks – she will wear thin cotton pyjamas underneath.
I got my sleeping bag at H&M, I don’t know whether you have that where you live, and it wasn’t that expensive.
I swear by them and my 2 year old has been in them since she was big enough to fit in the first size. They have to be over 10lbs before you can use them, but it was very hot here when she was small so she was just in a nappy anyway.
In my opinion, they keep the baby secure and you know they arent going to wake up because they kicked the covers off, which is a bonus and eliminates one reason for them waking!
You can buy them in all different tog ratings (that is, the warmth and thickness of the padding they are made from) so that you can use them all year round. The official Grobags come with a thermometer that tells you what to put on the baby under the Grobag for different temperatures, and which tog Grobag to use too. I found this reassuring as a new Mum as it was something to follow when I was concerned about overheating etc.
They are quite expensive to buy, I dont know which country you are in, but they sometimes have them here (uk) in a shop called TKMaxx for around £15. If not, look on Ebay – I got several from there very cheap and in really good condition.
I would reccomend you get several different tog ratings, depending on the climate where you live and the time of year your baby will be born.
HTH and good luck with the baby!
