I have noticed a new trend. Stores such as Jewel/Borders/Wal-Mart are now using baby changing tables to store rolls of toilet paper on. Not just the small rolls we use at home. The giant rolls of toilet paper they use in dispensers at the stores. Our local Borders had the toilet paper stacked 8 rolls high. Be careful. Take a look. If you find it, tell the manager right away. Baby changing tables are for changing babies not for storing toilet paper.
I know when my son was small I avoided using them because; one, for the same reason I avoid the public toilet and; two, I was so afraid he’d roll off. But sometimes it just needs to get done. Talk to the store manager, not a clerk and not the customer service rep – the store manager and tell them your concern. There is no excuse for them to use this thing for storage. It is not only making it inaccessible but it is also being used for something that could be heavier than its intended purpose. I’m sure they are thinking that a roll of tp isn’t very heavy but several rolls that size can add up especially if left for a long time. That changing table could not be safe after being used as a shelf and the next baby that uses it could end up on the floor.
That’s just plain rude! I have only had to use them a few times and was very reluctant everytime. I bring a pad that goes in my diaper bag to lay down on it so that my daughter is not directly on the changing table. I had to use one last weekend that was lined up across from three stalls, it was so close that I was literally blocking THREE bathroom stalls so no one could get it. I wish more places were baby friendly!!!
oh my…i use those frequently. Those toilet paper rolls are very, very heavy and might damage or weaken the change table. Just make sure to check it before placing the baby on it so it doesn’t collapse. I know i’ll be doing that from now on.
Yes, going to the manager will help. They have storage rooms, they should use them.
If I found that I would seriously push all the rolls on the floor. If they don’t have any consideration for us moms who have to change poopy diapers. I have no consideration for them having to pick it all up.
Beware? Because they store toilet paper on there? I thought you were going to tell me those changers are faulty in some way. I’ve never used one, but I think the best thing to do in this situation is tell the manager.
Yes i use the changing tables but i put down a thick blanket down befor laying my daughter down, never in hell would i lay her on anything without a blanket under her though, i wou;dn’t trust it.
i would never use a nasty changing table anyways…eww
I never use them anyways.
Never paid attention but okay…I don’t use them but only once in that was a dire emergency!
